Studied Political Science at the University of Prishtina and then did a Master’s degree on Democracy and Human Rights on the joint study programme of the Universities of Bologna and Sarajevo. He wroked as a researcher for different institutions. He is author of many publications (books and articles). Recently, he has published many articles about the history of Kosovo in the history schoolbooks in Kosovo and countries around Kosovo – Albania, Serbia, Montenegro and Macedonia. He frequently publishes political articles and book reviews in the Albanian language press.

Is a linguist, editor and translator. He completed his bachelor degree in linguistics at the University of London and then his Masters studies in linguistics at the University of Prishtina. He is editor at the Rrokullia publishing house and works as a freelance translator and interpreter for a range of embassies and both Kosovan and foreign government and non-governmental agencies. He also works as a private teacher of Albanian to foreign students. He is the author of many articles on Albanian linguistic issues.

Is Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Prishtina. He studied Political Science (primary discipline), South East European History, Comparative Public Law, Public and Communications Sciences and German at the Universities of Prishtina (1994), Graz ‎(1995-1999), Vienna ‎(2000-2005) and Huddersfield (2002). He has researched and published extensively on the Western Balkans. His PhD thesis on EU-Integration and Sustainable Peace-Building in the Western Balkans won the Dr. Alois Mock Europe Foundation Award in 2005 and was published by NOMOS publishing house in October 2007. He has worked as a freelance scientific collaborator at the Centre for Southeast European Studies since 2001. From 2003 to 2005 he was a scientific member of the Austrian Institute for International Affairs in Vienna. From 2007 to 2011 he acted as a freelance senior researcher at the European Academy of Bolzano. During the academic year ‎2007-2008 he was a Humphrey Fulbright Fellow at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a visiting scholar at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington DC. From 2009 to 2013 he worked as Senior Adviser at the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, Mission in Kosovo. In 2005 he became an Assistant Professor at the Department of Political Science at the University of Prishtina and in 2010 was promoted into Associate Professor. In 2009 he founded the Centre for Political Courage.

With a background in the field of political science and journalism has been engaged with civil society for more than 8 years. He used to work for ÇOHU!, one of the leading anti-corruption and rule of law organizations in Kosova. For some time, Lorik lead a group of researchers within the organization whereas several years later he became the executive director having the opportunity to lead the organization for almost 3 years. He is also one of the founding members of the Kosova Center for Investigative Journalism, the fist specialized online platform of civil society based exclusively on investigative journalism. Having joined the civil society just before the declaration of independence in 2008, Lorik had the opportunity to directly observe some of the most difficult moments with regards to the institutional building processes in Kosova. He witnessed the immeasurable negative impact of political corruption in establishing the rule of law and independent democratic institutions. His core body of interest and research comprises matters of state-building processes in transitional societies with a special focus on the impact of political corruption in founding democratic institutions. Currently, he runs one of the most successful business in the field of fast-food industry in Prishtina.
